Iron Diagnostic Kit

Iron Diagnostic Kit is intended for the quantitative determination of iron concentration in human serum or plasma using photometric methods on clinical chemistry analyzers, photometers, and spectrophotometers. The assay is based on the Ferrozine method, in which iron is released from transferrin in an acidic medium, reduced to ferrous ions by ascorbic acid, and subsequently forms a colored complex with Ferrozine. The intensity of the color measured at 570 nm is directly proportional to iron concentration in the sample.
